Family Doctor Publications (FDP) publishes the Family Doctor Series, a
leading series of health information books for the general public that
the British Medical Association (BMA) started producing in the 1960's.
The rights to the series were sold to FDP in 1992 together with a license
agreement whereby in exchange for its continuing involvement the BMA retains
effective editorial control of the Family Doctor Books.
The purpose of the
Family Doctor Books is to create a health information resource that doctors
can feel confident to recommend to their patients.
