Dr Gil Lea provides information on travel health to the medical profession from the Communicable Diseases Surveillance Centre and is co-editor of 'Health Information for Overseas Travel', the standard handbook for healthcare professionals. She has 20 years practical experience in major travel clinics and is now at the Trailfinders Immunisation Centre in London.
Bernadette Carroll is a research nurse at the Hospital for Tropical Diseases, London, where she is involved in developing a course in travel medicine, research and teaching. Before taking up her present post she was the travel health information coordinator at the Public Health Laboratory Service ion London.
